NIAGARA FALLS — Santa Claus will be touching down on Old Falls Street at 9 a.m. Saturday. The jolly old elf will be arriving in style, thanks to Rainbow Air Helicopter.

A pair of living reindeer will greet Santa at the public event as the helicopter arrival helps to kick-off the holiday season in downtown Niagara Falls. Reindeer and sleigh photo opportunities, hosted by Reindeer Promotions of WNY, will be available for families from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Children will also be able to ride Old Falls Street’s complimentary train ride, beginning on Saturday and running each weekend until Dec. 23. This free train ride, compliments Old Falls Street’s new outdoor holiday décor, as well as the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute’s “Gingerbread Wonderland,” features the largest life-sized gingerbread village in Western New York, and a host of other free family activities from 5-9 p.m. Fridays, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturdays and noon – 5 p.m. Sundays.
