BRADFORD, Pa. — Buffalo State shot 54 percent from the field and outscored host Pitt-Bradford 27-6 from 3-point range in a 90-69 tonight non-conference season-opening victory.
Dom Grayer (Brooklyn/Bishop Loughlin) led the Bengals with 23 points on 8 of 14 shooting, including hitting 5 of 10 from beyond the arc. Lovell Smith (Buffalo/McKinley) had a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Mike Henry (Syracuse/West Genesee) added 15 points, five assists and five boards. Jordan Chateau (Bayside/Lowell) chipped in 13 points. Buffalo State trailed 24-20 midway through the first half, but charged to a 43-32 lead at halftime and continued to pull way in the second half en route to the 21-point victory. Buffalo State held a 43-33 rebounding advantage.
Buffalo State will host the Coles Classic this weekend. The Bengals will open against York (NY) on Friday at 8 p.m.
