BUFFALO — The University at Buffalo women’s basketball team (1-0, 0-0 MAC) will welcome Big 4 rival Niagara University to Alumni Arena on Wednesday night for a non-conference game at 7 p.m.

The Bulls will be looking to extend their 11-game winning streak against the Purple Eagles on Wednesday after opening the season on Friday night with a 61-47 win over UMass. The Purple Eagles played at Michigan for the second time in program history on Sunday, losing 107-35.

The Purple Eagles and the Bulls last met on Dec. 21, 2015 at Niagara University. Buffalo defeated Niagara, 57-48. Stroemple led the Purple Eagles with 18 points and Granruth had a team-high eight rebounds.

Following Buffalo, the Purple Eagles host Maryland, the 2016 Big Ten Champions at noon Sunday. The game will be broadcast live on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
