BUFFALO — University at Buffalo head coach Felisha Legette-Jack announced the signing of Hanna Hall and Marissa Hamilton to National Letters of Intent on Thursday afternoon. Hall and Hamilton will join the Buffalo program for the 2017-18 academic year.

Hall comes to the Bulls from nearby Hamilton, Ontario where she attends St. Mary’s Catholic Secondary school and led her team to two straight OFSAA Provincial Championships. The 5-4 point guard will be playing for Lincoln Prep this upcoming season after playing for the U17 Canadian national team who competed in the FIBA World Championships in Spain this past June. Hall averaged a team-high 3.0 assists/game and 19.0 minutes/game over team Canada’s three exhibition games at the FIBA World Championships.

“We are very excited to have Hanna Hall join our Buffalo family,” said head coach Felisha Legette-Jack. “She is a general on the court that has a pass first mentality. She has a great awareness of angles on defense and she was able to get great international experience with the U17 Canadian national team.”

Hamilton comes to Buffalo from Ellicottville High School where she averaged 21.3 PPG as a junior and was able to earn Honorable Mention All-WNY for her efforts. The 5-11 sharpshooting forward was a dominant force for the Eagles as she earned CCAA East League Most Valuable Player honors in 2014 and 2015 while surpassing the 1,000-point plateau during her junior campaign. She also earned Olean Times Herald All-Star honors in 2014 and 2015.

“Marissa Hamilton is a local kid and we are trying to build this program here with local talent and I think she is one of the best shooters in this area and arguably one of the best in the state,” stated Legette-Jack. “She is going to be able to replace JoAnna Smith as far as being able to score the basketball as she is a great three-point shooter who can really handle the ball at 5-11. Her 6-3 wingspan will also help our matchup zone a lot next season and we are very excited to have her join the Buffalo family.”

The Bulls will open up their 2016-17 regular season at 7 p.m. Friday as they welcome the UMass Minutewomen to Alumni Arena for a non-conference match.
