TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 31-year-old Lockport man was charged this morning with third-degree robbery, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and multiple traffic tickets.
According to New York State Police, Niagara County Sheriff’s Office dispatched Troopers to a robbery at Tim Hortons on Robinson Road around 2:20 a.m. While Troopers where en route to the robbery, a vehicle meeting the description with no head lights passed by them on Lockport Road. Troopers turned on the suspected vehicle and witnessed the vehicle leave the roadway. Troopers initiated a traffic stop as the suspect vehicle re-entered the roadway. Further investigation revealed that David G. Dexter was the suspect of the robbery. Dexter was taken into custody and transported to SP Lockport for processing, where he was found to have a crack cocaine pipe in his position. No weapon was displayed at the robbery and no injuries reported.
Dexter was arraigned at the Town of Lockport Court.
