Buffalo State goaltender Justine Silva was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) west women’s hockey goalie of the week on Monday.
Silva helped backstop the Bengals (3-0-1, 2-0-0 ECAC) to two-straight victories over the No. 9 team in the country, Utica, on Friday and Saturday.
She allowed just one goal in the two wins. The junior made 20 saves in Friday’s 2-1 victory and followed it with another 25 stops for her first shutout of the season in Saturday’s, 1-0 overtime win.
Silva is now 3-0-1 on the year with a 1.33 GAA and .925 save percentage.
Buffalo State travels to Potsdam this weekend to take on the Bears in an ECAC West season-series, beginning on Friday at 7 p.m. The Bengals and Bears play again on Saturday at 2 p.m.
