AMHERST — A 47-year-old East Amherst man was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated following a two-car crash at Transit and Casey roads.
According to Amherst police, around 9:33 p.m., a 2005 Toyota was northbound on Transit Road when it made a left turn to go West onto Casey Road. It was struck on the passenger side by a 2016 Chevrolet that was traveling straight ahead in the southbound lane of Transit Road.
The driver of the Chevrolet, C. M. Kacalski, was found to be intoxicated. His front seat passenger, a 46-year-old Lancaster man, was taken to Erie County Medical Center with a laceration on his head. The driver of the Toyota, 17-year-old Rachel J. Parks was taken to ECMC with hip pain. Her passenger, a 17-year-old Lancaster male, was also transported to ECMC with a head injury and a fractured pelvis.
