SOUTH BYRON – A 60-year-old South Byron man was struck and killed by a freight train this morning.
New York State Police say David Swinton was struck by the train around 10:30 a.m. between Route 237 and Caswell Road. It it believed he may have been taking photos at the time after spending the early morning hunting in the area.
Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene, along with NYSP and members of the Byron and South Byron Fire departments.
The incident remains under investigation.
