NIAGARA UNIV. — The Niagara University Department of Athletics eagerly invites all men’s basketball alumni back to Monteagle Ridge for alumni weekend from Dec. 9-11.

The festivities begin with the third annual Purple Eagles Basketball Tip-Off Dinner on Friday, Dec. 9 at the Niagara Falls Conference Center starting at 5:30 p.m. The cost to attend is $100 per person.

There will be several events on Saturday, Dec. 10, beginning at 10:30 a.m. with the unveiling of the Gallagher Center atrium redesigned which will pay homage to the history of Niagara University Athletics. Immediately following will be the Alumni Game on the Frank and Barbara Layden Court at the Gallagher Center. At 12:30 p.m., there will be lunch in the multipurpose room in lower level Gallagher Center. The cost to attend is $25 per person.

At 3 p.m., Niagara hosts Norfolk State where all men’s basketball alumni in attendance, including the 2006-07 MAAC Championship team, will be recognized at halftime. Following the game, there will be a meet and greet in the multipurpose room. The men’s basketball alumni weekend continues on Sunday beginning with mass in Alumni Chapel at 11 a.m. followed by brunch at the dining commons in Clet Hall for $9.50 per person.

The Purple Eagles men’s basketball program, which started play in 1906, has a proud tradition of success, both on and off the court. The Purple Eagles have played in three NCAA Tournaments, 14 NIT appearances, won two MAAC Tournaments, and have two Naismith Basketball Hall of Famers.
