New York State’s “Move Over Law” will expand as of Tuesday to now include garbage trucks.

It’s already law that drivers must — whenever possible — change lanes to allow enough room for emergency vehicles, tow trucks and construction crews. Now garbage trucks are a must to avoid, as well.

If moving over isn’t an option, drivers must slow down.

Drivers who fail to move over or slow down could face up to a $400 fine and three points on their license.
