WINNIPEG — Kyle Okposo scored a pair of goals this afternoon as the Buffalo Sabres downed the Winnipeg Jets, 3-1.
Brian Gionta added the Sabres third goal and Robin Lehner stopped 37 shots, nearly recording a shutout against the Jets.
Okposos’s first goal game at 10:51 of the first period. Gionta made it 2-0 less than two minutes later.
Okposo made it 3-0, Buffalo at 13:59 of the second period, forcing Winnipeg to swap out goaltenders.
Winnipeg finally got on the board at 4:49 of the third period.
The Sabres take on the Minnesota Wild in Minnesota on Tuesday.
