Four Niagara Falls residents and a Buffalo woman were arrested today on welfare fraud charges after recent investigations conducted by the Niagara County Department of Social Services and the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Welfare Fraud Unit.

Those arrested include:

  • Christina Clark, 38, Niagara Falls, charged with second-degree offering a false instrument for filing. She has a return court date of Oct. 28 in Niagara Falls City Court.
  • Jalisa Charelus, 26, Niagara Falls, charged with second-degree offering a false instrument for filing. She has a return court date of Oct. 27 in Niagara Falls City Court.
  • Lisa Lee, 44, Buffalo, charged with second-degree offering a false instrument for filing. She has a return court date of Oct. 28 in Niagara Falls City Court.
  • Franco Richardson, 42, Niagara Falls, charged with misuse of food stamps. He has a return court date of Nov. 10 in Niagara Falls City Court.
  • Melody Rivers, 42, Niagara Falls, charged with misuse of food stamps. She has a return court date of Nov. 10 in Niagara Falls City Court.

All defendants were released on appearance tickets.
