BUFFALO — A pair of women were arrested Wednesday and charged with petit larceny and conspiracy, accused of stealing medication from the home they had cleaned.

Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard say Jaclyn Martin, 37, of Amherst and Miranda Schmidt, 23, of Kenmore were charged following an investigation by Deputy Lundberg, who was looking into a complaint from the victim’s son. The son told police that quantities of the mother’s medication had been missing and he had reportedly captured the subjects stealing the medication on a home camera system.

Martin was charged with a felony count of tampering with physical evidence and two separate misdemeanor counts of conspiracy and petit larceny. She was arraigned in Elma court and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center. Her next court appearance is Monday.

Schmidt was charged with petit larceny and conspiracy.  She was remanded to the holding center and was later released on bail.
