The Canisius men’s and women’s basketball programs will host Mid-Night Mania on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 8-9:15 p.m., in the Koessler Athletic Center. The event is open to Canisius students and the general public, and is free of charge.

Mid-Night Mania will allow Canisius fans to get their first look at the 2016-17 edition of both the Golden Griffin men’s and women’s basketball teams. The event will start with the introduction of both basketball teams and will include performances by the Canisius cheer and dance squads as well as comments from Canisius head coaches Reggie Witherspoon and Terry Zeh.

Canisius students will have the chance to take part in the evening’s event and win prizes as well. Student-participants will be randomly selected to take part in a 3-point shooting contest, a half-court shot and a wing eating competition through the Canisius BlueGoldWin APP. The grand prize for hitting the half-court shot is $500 towards the purchase of textbooks at the Canisius bookstore. Select members of the men’s team will wrap up the night by holding a slam-dunk contest, and all in attendance will be treated to free food and drinks afterwards.

To sign up for the BlueGoldWin APP, search “Blue Gold Win” in the Apple Store of Android Market.
