EDISON, N.J. – Niagara women’s basketball forwards Victoria Rampado and Kaylee Stroemple were named to the Preseason All-MAAC First Team and Preseason All-MAAC Third Team respectively, voted on by the league’s coaches, announced on Tuesday.

Rampado, a redshirt junior, appeared in three games during the 2015-16 season before missing the remainder of the year due to injury. In her three games played, Rampado averaged 13.3 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game. She was named to both College Sports Madness’ Preseason All-MAAC First Team and the Preseason All-MAAC First Team. Rampado was also named to the 2016-17 Preseason All-Big 4 First Team.

Rampado led the Purple Eagles in scoring with 12.6 points per game and in rebounding with 6.1 rebounds per game, as well as in free throw percentage (.748) and 3-point field goal percentage (.381) during the 2014-15 season and was named to the All-MAAC Second Team. At the conclusion of her freshman season in 2013-14, Rampado was named the MAAC Rookie of the Year.

Stroemple led the Purple Eagles in scoring during the 2015-16 season, averaging 12.1 points per game, which ranked her eighth in the MAAC. The junior also brought down 6.9 rebounds per game; her 214 total rebounds were the tenth-most in the MAAC. Stroemple started in all 31 games and led the MAAC in minutes played, averaging 38.6 minutes per game. She recorded a career-high five double-doubles over the course of the season. Stroemple was also named to the 2016-17 Preseason All-Big 4 Second Team.

The Purple Eagles, who were picked ninth in the preseason coaches’ poll, start the 2016-17 season on Nov. 11 at 5:00 p.m. when they welcome Little 3 rival St. Bonaventure to the Gallagher Center.
