The New York State average is $2.36 per gallon, up 1 cent from last week. A year ago, the NYS average was $2.38. In Buffalo, the average price for a gallon of gasoline is $2.32, up a penny from last week. Rochester’s gas prices went up 2 cents from a week ago to $2.31.

Overall, gas prices are on par with last year.

Last week, drivers saw pump prices jump in reaction to the OPEC production agreement, continued refinery maintenance and Hurricane Matthew. Prices are expected to taper off barring any unforeseen circumstances.
