BUFFALO — The Niagara women’s cross country team ran in the Canisius Alumni Classic at the Delaware Park Golf Course on Saturday.
For the third time this season, Caroline Hampton paced the Purple Eagles. Hampton ran the 5K event in 19:35.8 for 32nd place. Julia Freemire was next for the Purple Eagles, placing 50th with a time of 20:15.8. Sarah Grubbs (20:43.5), Aly Orfano (21:02.2) and Mallory Ronan (22:06.8) followed.
Niagara will compete in the 2016 MAAC Championships in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. on Oct. 29 at 9 a.m. The championship will air on ESPN3.
