TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 30-year-old Lockport man was charged Saturday with petit larceny, resisting arrest and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

According to New York State Police, Niagara County 911 dispatched Troopers to the Walmart store located at 5735 South Transit Road for a larceny in progress. Jamil T. Alhorebi exited the store with stolen merchandise and attempted to flee on foot when he was approached by Troopers who ordered him to stop. Alhorebi was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit and was found in possession of several narcotic drugs including cocaine.

Alhorebi was arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and remanded to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
