BUFFALO — The Toronto Leafs scored eight goals on 40 shots Friday night against the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center, chasing starting goaltender Jason Kasdorf from the net in place of John Muse.
Toronto goals game from William Nylander, Peter Holland, Matt Hunwick, Kasperi Kapanen, Rich Clune, and Jake Gardiner. Holland and Hunwick each tallied two.
Derek Grant score the lone Buffalo goal 9:54 into the first period and now has a team-high four points (2+2) in three preseason games.
Robin Lehner missed tonight’s game due to a forearm contusion. Nicholas Baptiste left the game in the second period with a lower-back injury.
With the loss, the Sabres fell to 36-29-8 all-time in preseason matchups with the Maple Leafs, including a 14-11-5 record at home. The Sabres, now 2-2 in the pre-season, next play the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday.
