BUFFALO — A 45-year-old Jamestown man was sentenced today to 12 months in prison following a conviction of transmitting communications containing threats to injure the person of another.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan T. Cullinane, who handled the case, stated that on Jan. 2, 2015, and again on Feb. 26, 2016, Michael Bush, a former Jamestown Police Officer, posted threats on Topix.com. The posts contained threats to kill Jamestown area law enforcement officers.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation by the Jamestown Police Department, under the direction of Chief Harry Snellings, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Adam S. Cohen.
