UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Buffalo Sabres lost their first pre-season game of the 2016 season to the Minnesota Wild by a score of 2-1 at Pegula Ice Arena at Penn State University on Monday.

Minnesota forward Jason Zucker scored a power-play goal and forward Kurtis Gabriel also scored for the Wild.

Forward Zemgus Girgensons scored for the Sabres.

The Sabres next play Tuesday night against the Ottawa Senators at KeyBank Center in Buffalo.
