There is little change in gas prices across the region and across New York State this week. The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is now $2.21 per gallon, no change from last week. The New York State average is $2.32 per gallon, no change over the last three weeks. A year ago, the NYS average was $2.45.

In Buffalo, gas prices are unchanged from a week ago at an average of $2.27 per gallon. In Rochester, prices fell a penny to $2.25.

Last week, several southern states saw prices increase due to a broken pipeline in Alabama, which caused outages in many areas. Some gas stations down south were completely out of gas. With repairs in place, prices should begin to drop down south. The pipeline issue did not impact New York, where prices have been steady for three weeks.
