HUME — A 38-year-old Fillmore man is facing criminal charges, as well as charges of driving while intoxicated, following an Emerald Street traffic stop on Wednesday.

According to New York State Police, Dustin K Ellwood was stopped around 3:17 p.m. for operating a vehicle. Troopers knew from prior encounters that he did not possess a valid license. Upon interviewing he was to be placed under arrest for DWI. He resisted arrest and was taken into custody.

Ellwood was charged with DWI, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unauthorized use of a vehicle, resisting arrest, and other traffic charges. He was processed at SP Fillmore and arraigned in the Town of Rushford court before being remanded to the Allegany County Jail on $10,000 bail. He is to reappear in the Town of Hume court October 2016.
