ALLEGANY — An Allegany man was charged Sunday with criminal possession of marijuana following a Main Street traffic stop.

According to New York State Police, Nathan M Hoffman was stopped for speeding. While interviewing Hoffman, the odor of marijuana was present. He was searched and found to be in possession of more than 30 grams of pot and drug paraphernalia.

Hoffman was processed at SP Olean and issued an appearance ticket to Village of Allegany Court in October.
