The Canisius College cross country teams continue their seasons this coming weekend, as the squads will split up and race in two different meets, highlighted by the National Catholic race hosted by Notre Dame. The Griffs will also compete at the University at Buffalo Stampede hosted in Amherst. Both meets take place on Friday.

The men’s team has seen considerable success in South Bend the last four years, as the squad has recorded top-10 team finishes each of the last four seasons. The men’s team’s best finish came in 2014, as the Blue and Gold took the crown, placing four runners in the top-eight spots.

On the women’s side, the last three seasons have shown considerable improvement for the Blue and Gold, as the squad has posted top-10 finishes as a team in the last three campaigns. Canisius’ women’s squad is still chasing its best performance at National Catholic Championships, which came in 2009, when the Griffs finished second overall. Last season the women’s team came in eighth in South Bend, as Anna Phillips led the way with a 23rd place showing, recording a time of 18:24.
