LEWISTON — Center Street was buzzing with activity this morning as it hosted the Peach Festival 5K, followed by the annual Peach Festival parade.
Matt Glynn and Kelli Dimon were the overall winners in the race.
This afternoon saw the inaugural Peach Taste Off recipe contest at Academy Park. Diane Tubridy won the food enthusiasts category with a peach smash parfait, while Rachael Gifford won the student category with a peach lattice pie and Kiria Gonka won the 13-and-under category with a cheese chimichanga.
The peach shortcake eating contest was won by Town of Lewiston Supervisor Steve Brodrick, who devoured the festival’s mainstay at one minute, 50 seconds.
