NORTH TONAWANDA — The Historic Riviera Theater will host a tribute to Gene Wilder with free screenings on Saturday of two of Wilder’s best known films.

The screening, sponsored by World Hollywood Entertainment, begins at 5 p.m. with the 1971 classic “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” At 8 p.m., “Blazing Saddles” will be shown. Doors will open approximately 30 minutes before each feature.

The theater expressed sadness over Wilder’s passing on its Facebook page:

Gene Wilder inspired many to step out of reality and into a world of Pure Imagination. We invite the public to join us in celebrating the life and career of Gene Wilder. Our concessions including our world famous Riviera Theatre popcorn and other favorites will be available during the event.
