BUFFALO — A 46-year-old Buffalo woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years post-release supervision for robbing a 17-year-old girl last August.

Accordind to Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr., Mercedes Rosado attacked the Buffalo teen Aug. 22, 2015 with a meat cleaver, cutting her face and breaking her nose and stealing her shoes and purse.

Rosado pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery also signed an order of protection requiring her to stay away from the victim until the year 2033.

“We are glad that the victim of the robbery survived and is doing well,” says acting DA Flaherty. “The defendant’s actions were extremely violent and threatening. I hope she receives treatment for her issues behind bars.”
