LEWISTON — The 15th Annual Lewiston Jazz Festival kicks off tonight with some hot jazz, tasty treats and an abundance of activities. The two-day festival will feature music on five stages throughout historic Lewiston.

It starts at 4:45 p.m. with The French Quarter Hounds parading down Center Street. Festival times are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. tonight and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday.

Voted one of the top 100 Events in North America by the American Bus Association (2014), the Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival has received numerous awards, drawing more than 30,000 people to Village of Lewiston on the Niagara River each August.

The headlining acts slated to take the Main Stage at this year’s festival include Molly Johnson — at 8 o’clock tonight — and Curtis Stigers, who will close the Festival at 8 p.m. Saturday. The Festival stages will present local and regional Jazz talents throughout the Festival. The second annual Jazz Mass at St. Peter’s RC Church on Center Street will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday. The popular Jazz Festival Jewelry Tent returns to Center Street Friday and Saturday.
