BUFFALO — The 18-year-old Buffalo man who narrowly lost a Buffalo School Board race to Carl Paladino earlier this year has been arrested for the second time since that election.

Austin Harig was charged with third-degree assault with intent to cause physical damage, first-degree gang assault, and second-degree harassment by Buffalo police on Thursday after they say he took part in a violent attack against another young man. Police say the alleged beating victim had a serious neck injury. Also arrested was 21-year-old Jonathan Tyner, charged with obstruction and resisting arrest.

Three months ago, Harig was charged with providing minors with alcohol and allowing the minors to smoke marijuana at his home.
