BUFFALO — A 49-year-old Buffalo man was sentenced to six years in jail on Friday, while his 26-year-old stepson was given five years probation for their roles in several burglaries.

According to Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr., 49-year-old John Battaglia of North Tonawanda and 26-year-old Kyle Wade of Tonawanda burglarized many homes in Erie, Niagara and Genesee Counties in September and October of 2015, stealing a large number of firearms and jewelry. Wade admitted to burglarizing a home in Lancaster with co-defendant 49-year-old James Baglio of Depew in October of 2015.

Battaglia pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree burglary, while Wade pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree attempted burglary. Baglio, meanwhile, pleaded guilty to five counts of second-degree burglary and one count of second-degree robbery and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
