
LOCKPORT — Lockport Police Department investigators say a body was found in the debris of the High Tread International fire this evening.
The statement, featured below in its entirety, says that the body was found around 6:51 p.m. and taken to Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination.
Police did not offer any features or characteristics of the body, nor did they speculate in any way whether it may be the body of the missing 14-year-old boy who was rumored to have been trapped in the fire.
Police say no other details will be released.
At approximately 1851 hours, Investigators located a body within the debris of the Stevens Street fire. The body was turned over to the Niagara County Coroner and will be taken to the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination. The investigation is still ongoing at this time. No other information will be given out at this time and any further information will be handled through the Detective Division of the City of Lockport Police Dept.
