ROCHESTER — Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Beyea was honored today for putting an unusual stamp on an otherwise routine traffic stop he conducted in June.

According to MCSO, Deputy Beyea was conducted the June 5 traffic stop in which a male suspect had an odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle. Nothing unusual. Then Deputy Beyea noticed several undelivered pieces of mail. That when USPS got involved — and now the original suspect faces 100 felony counts of federal mail theft.
