There’s two great anniversary shows with Buffalo’s quintessential punk bands this week, I couldn’t choose a favorite so here’s a little something about both.

Johnny Revolting & The Irving Klaws were “punk” before many kids nowadays who claim to be were even old enough to understand what that means. Both continuing that old school charm, in a timeless way, right into the new millennia. If you can capture the ideals of a genre at a certain time and package them into some of the nicest and funniest guys you will ever meet, and let them stay that way into their adulthood, well, you’ve got something that you know will be a great time whenever they take the stage.

It’s beautiful to see every member continuing to have so much fun after all these years, and being ready to celebrate another one. Johnny Revolting will be celebrating the age of 22, just the right age to party hard, at Buffalo Iron Works on Saturday alongside other long time local Punk Rockers including The Clockers, The Barksdales, and The Tosspots. The Irving Klaws decided to keep things more underground with their celebration which is taking place Friday at Nietzsche’s with, as they explain, “Some VERY special guests. Guests not seen on stage with us in recent years.” Get out and celebrate great local music!
