BUFFALO — Dogs, cats, bunnies and horses will be among the featured guests during the “Canalside Has Gone to the Dogs” adoption event from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, on the Pierce Lawn at Canalside in Buffalo.

In addition to homeless animals, including farm animals, up for adoption, there will be live music by Wide Right, The Larkin Plan, the Duke James Band and Randy Howe (soloist); face painting; vendors; and food trucks. Dog and cat food donations also will be accepted during the event.

Attendees are asked to not bring their dogs to the event due to the expected crowd and hot weather.

Proceeds will benefit the NYS Citizens Against Puppy Mills, a non-profit, grassroots group with the mission of closing puppy mills.
