At least 12 all-terrain vehicles  have been stolen from all areas of Genesee County and into Livingston County during the past month, according to Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

“We have had ATV thefts from Bethany Center Road in Bethany to West Bergen Road in the Byron-Bergen area and all points in between,” Chief Jerome Brewster said.

Orleans and Wyoming county sheriff’s departments have reported no such thefts so it appears to be limited to Genesee and one theft in Livingston County.

Brewster said that investigators have found no trace of the stolen vehicles. “We’ve checked Craigslist and other places and they are not turning up,” he said. “Some of them had keys in them and some didn’t. We’re advising people to lock them and keep an eye out for anything suspicious.”

The included photo is of a Polaris Magnum 325 that was stolen. Note some of its features: the bar on the back, rack on the front, etc. These could have been removed or may still be in tact.

Anyone with tips, information or who sees anything suspicious is asked to call 911 or GCSO at 585-343-5000. Information will be kept confidential.
