RAPIDS — Mud Creek Central Railroad will hold its annual Summer Public Meet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 20 and 21 at at 7349 Tonawanda Creek Road.

The yearly event allows anyone age 1 and up to ride on the scale model railroad’s 1000-foot track. Those under the age of 1 are welcome to visit but will not be permitted on the train. The extensive train ride goes over bridges and under tunnels on the 27-acre site. There will be three trains running throughout the event with 10-12 riders per train.

There will be hot dogs, snacks and refreshments available at the event, as well as a basket raffle to help raise more money for future improvements and maintenance.

A “membership” is required to ride the train for the day. Membership’s cost $5 for the day or year-long memberships are available for those who want to contribute to the club’s endeavors, including their goal of future track expansion. One-day memberships are free for those aged 1-5.
