YOUNGSTOWN — A body recovered Tuesday morning in Lake Ontario a mile off the coast has been identified as a 25-year-old Hamilton, Ontario man.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office says that Mohammad Maaz Shaikh fell into the water off the lower gorge on the Canadian side on Saturday while on a family outing.
The United States Coast Guard secured Shaikh’s body on Tuesday and brought him back to their station in Youngstown.
The investigation is now closed by the Niagara County Sheriff’s office.
