The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that 2B Ryan Goins has joined the Buffalo Bisons on an MLB injury rehab assignment. The Bisons start the second half of their season tonight against the IronPigs in Lehigh Valley (7:05 p.m.).

The Blue jays placed Goins on the disabled list on July 2 with a forearm strain. In 58 games with Toronto this season, the infielder has averaged .176 (28-159) with three home runs and 12 RBI. He also pitched an inning of scoreless relief on July 1 against the Cleveland Indians in a 2-1 loss to the Tribe in 19 innings.

Goins has played for the Bisons in each of the last three seasons. In 214 total games with Buffalo, Goins has averaged .272 with 33 doubles, six home runs 79 RBI and seven stolen bases.
