PEMBROKE — A 27-year-old Pembroke man was charged Friday with aggravated DWI following a traffic stop on State Route 33.

According to New York State Police, Alex P. Wells was seen traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. When Wells was pulled over by patrol, he struck a mailbox and was found to be intoxicated.

Well was transported to SP Batavia for processing and found to have a .23 percent blood alcohol content. He is to appear before the Town of Pembroke Court at a later date to answer to the DWI charge, as well as a speeding ticket.
