AMHERST — The Amherst Police Department is looking for a suspect in a Sunday morning shooting on Main Street.

According to the police, officers responded to a shots fired call in the parking lot at 3500 Main St. around 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they located a 17-year-old Buffalo resident who was the victim of a single gunshot wound to the leg. At this time the injuries are listed as non life threatening.

No charges have been filed at this time and the Amherst Police Detective Bureau is actively investigating this incident. Anyone who has information regarding this shooting is asked to contact the Amherst Police at 716-689-­1322.
