RIGA — A 27-year-old Rochester woman was charged Saturday with second-degree criminal impersonation and unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on I-490.

According to New York State Police, the woman — Jennifer J. Lopez — gave police the name “Veronica Lopez” while being interviewed because her license was suspended. What she didn’t know was that “Veronica Lopez” also has a suspended license.

Troopers found a joint and a baggie with approximately five grams of marijuana in the vehicle, as well as her learner’s permit — with her correct name.

When she copped to her real name, she was additionally charged with operation of a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver and speeding — in addition to criminal impersonation.

Lopez was arrested and issued an tickets returnable to the Town of Riga Court on Aug. 3.
