NIAGARA FALLS — Western New York gardens might not appreciate the lack of rain but clear skies this Independence Day weekend has brought people outdoors en masse.

This was clearly visible on Saturday at Fourth of July Carnival on Old Falls Street where the road running from the Seneca Niagara Casino to Niagara Falls State Park was filled from end to end with tourists and locals taking in the sights, sounds and activities of the carnival.

The carnival continues today until 10 p.m., followed by fireworks blast off from Goat Island.
