Barbara Avery of Appleton, wife of the late Charles Avery entered into rest on Saturday July 2, 2016 in Lockport, NY. She was born in Buffalo, NY on July 13, 1934, the daughter of the late Glenn and Margaret Brett Blocher.
Barbara and her mother were co-owners of Spincraft Farm, a hand-spinning and weaving business in Appleton. She was a member of Newfane United Methodist Church and a long-time Newfane Historical Society board member. Barbara and her husband Charlie were instrumental in transforming the abandoned Van Horn Mansion in the 1980s into a museum and civic space for the Newfane Historical Society.
Mother of Brett Avery of New York, NY, Toby (Dee) Avery of Baltimore, Maryland and Jay Avery of Lockport, NY. Grandmother of Joshua Avery of Bountiful, Utah, Caleb and Benjamin Avery both of Lockport, NY.
