HARTLAND — A 40-year-old Hartland woman is facing charges of first-degree assault after being accused of stabbing her husband.

According to Niagara County Sheriff Jim Voutour, Christina Karlak stabbed her husband during a domestic disturbance at their residence, 7589 Ridge Road. The victim drove himself to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport with stab wounds to the throat and arm. He was then airlifted by Mercy Flight and is listed in serious condition.

Karlak was arraigned by Justice Sullivan in Hartland Town court, at which time bail was set at $10,000 and a Tuesday return date scheduled.
