AMHERST — Amherst Police Captain Patrick McKenna of the Accident Investigation Unit reports two females were in the crosswalk at Kenmore Avenue and Main Street when one of them was struck by a vehicle around 12:13 p.m.

Kelsey L. Smolinski, 20, of Buffalo was struck by a vehicle which made a left turn from eastbound Main Street onto northbound Kenmore Avenue. Smolinski then rolled into Marie M. Destin, 61, of Kenmore, causing her to fall and injure her wrist and arm. Smolinski was taken to Sisters Hospital with head, neck and shoulder pain.

Destin was taken to Kenmore Mercy Hospital for her arm injury. None of the injuries appear life threatening. The incident happened as the women were walking east in the crosswalk towards the University Plaza.

Police are searching for what they believe may be a silver Nissan Rogue or similar vehicle with out-of-state license plates.
