PORTER — No one was injured in a Howard Drive house fire, now under investigation by the Niagara County Origin and Cause Unit.

According to NCSO, dispatch received a 911 call reporting a house fire at 397 Howard Dr. Upon patrol’s arrival, a working structure fire and flames were reported through the roof of the residence. The fire appeared to have started in the bushes which were approximately two feet from the residence. The flames then spread to the structure itself.

No one was inside the residence when the flames started and there were no injuries reported. The Red Cross was assisting the residents. The damage to the residence was estimated to be between $175,000 and $200,000.
