
BUFFALO — The Buffalo Sabres have signed former New York Islanders forward Kyle Okposo, one of the leading players in the NHL’s free-agent market.
Okposo, 28, had 22 goals and 42 assists with the Islanders in the 2015-2016 season. He has scored 20 goals or more in three of his eight NHL seasons.
The Sabres haven’t made an announcement yet, but the deal is rumored to be a seven-year contract for $42 million.
UPDATE: Sabres goaltender Chad Johnson is now former Sabres goaltender Chad Johnson. He has signed a one-year deal with the Calgary Flames.
