With Independence Day less than a week away, Western New Yorkers are making their plans for the spectacular fireworks displays and parades across the region.

Most communities have chosen to celebrate on July 4 proper, but others are hoping that making their offerings available on earlier dates might lead to higher attendance, starting with the Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca on Friday night.

In all, some three dozen fireworks displays are available throughout Western New York over the Independence Day weekend, through Monday.

The full schedule follows (fireworks are at dusk unless otherwise noted):

Friday, July 1

  • 9:30 p.m. – Salamanca: Seneca Allegany Casino

Saturday, July 2

  • Cherry Creek: Town Park

Sunday, July 3

  • Buffalo: Coca-Cola Field (following BPO concert)
  • Collins:  Town Park
  • East Aurora: Hamlin Park
  • Evans: Lake Erie Beach Park
  • Hamburg: Woodlawn Beach
  • Town of Niagara Community Park
  • Niagara Falls: Seneca Niagara Casino
  • Olcott/Newfane: West Pier in Olcott
