BUFFALO — Over $75,000 worth of illegal fireworks was seized this morning by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, the result of a collaborated raid on a self-storage unit on William Street.
According to Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard, the Sheriff’s Office was working from an anonymous tip when detectives began investigating the storage unit at 1545 William St. When they verified that the unit held “a mass quantity of illegal fireworks,” a search warrant was obtained and members of the sheriff’s Bomb Squad, SWAT Team, and detectives discovered the arsenal, seizing the fireworks.
The investigation is continuing.
